KSCY-FM:
A seismic shift in
listenership to local
country radio in 2021
helped transform K-SKY
Country 106.9
into the most popular
station in town, according
to multiple reader polls.
When the competition
across town made an
unpopular change to their
popular morning show,
K-SKY made that morning
show our very own.
The turmoil associated
with this sudden
programming change by the
corporate-owned station
led to massive listener
and advertiser defections,
turning the country radio
audience upside down.
"I've
made the switch" became
the unified rallying cry
of the all new K-SKY
Cavalry!
Those new listeners
instantly found a new
local home in K-SKY
country, on a local
station owned by local
people and discovered a
better brand of country:
one which not only
features today's country
favorites, but also
spotlights the legends of
country from the 1990s and
2000s. We brand it Montana's
Real
Country.
With personalities edging
out music as one of the
main reasons we listen to
the radio, ours are second
to none: Dave
& Ally,
whose morning show is a
perennial number one in
Bozeman, afternoon
personality Randy Brooks,
and OffRoad driver
Vance
Shepherd,
who hosted the top morning
show in central Georgia
for more than a decade.
K-SKY is the epitome of a
